All salaries are Dependent On Experience and References, and all candidates must be willing to submit themselves for a Federal Background Report. There is potential for a discretionary, performance-based bonus

  • Minimum 4 year degree from accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience as the lead person running multi-staff, large estates
  • Strong managerial experience, specifically overseeing housekeepers and other staff

Job Description:

Prominent Bay Area family seeks an experienced and enthusiastic hands-on House Manager to help run and maintain their three homes. The family includes both Mr. and Mrs. and two children; one who is a teenager and one who is grown. The ideal candidate will be kind-hearted and a true service professional. Must enjoy – and excel at – taking complete ownership of maintaining an estate, making sure everything runs smoothly and creating a peaceful and beautiful environment. The ideal candidate will need little direction and be able to hit the ground running, however, driven and ambitious candidates open to training will also be considered.

  • Single point of contact for principals for all estate related matters
  • Planning and running exquisite events
  • Manage staff and execute house manual to deliver 7-star service
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating household staff, upholding high standards of service at all times
  • Expert project management including: receiving & comparing bids, making intelligent and thoughtful recommendations, evaluating performance of vendors and close monitoring of all visitors to the estate
  • Manage vendors, such as gardeners, and potential construction projects
  • Detailed ongoing organization and maintenance, inside and out
  • Regular daily checks throughout property to make sure household is running seamlessly and without interruption to the principals
  • Maintenance of cars and occasional driving
  • Personal valet relative to wardrobe and accessories care
  • Handling of regular errands
  • Performing research on household items as needed
  • Lovely use of dishes, flowers, linens and decorative objects, especially seasonally
